Young Urban Art Camp

The team in Mitrovica South is a young team, ranging from 17 to 22 in age, with both high school students as university students. During the first team meetings in 2011 it quickly became clear what the team would like to organize most: a cultural camping event. It was a huge challenge to organize a cultural camp with workshops, trainings, games and art performances on the top of a mountain, without water or electricity, within 3 weeks. But the team pulled through and we are 3 Young Urban Art Camps further down the road by now!  With activities like guitar workshops, painting, open air film screenings, workshops democracy and journalism,  live gigs, sport, games and bonfires the Young Urban Art Camp is overbooked every year.

Besides the organization of the Young Urban Art Camp, YUA helps the local team to assess the possibilities for their own Kriterion business model. This means we are looking into ways of setting up a self sustainable business run by students. To be continued!
